Worked as a Summer Research Intern in the Natural Language Processing lab, Department of Computer Science, Indian Institute of Technology BHU. Designed and built the Parallel Corpus from Comparable Corpus for Machine Translation.

Fall 2018 - Present

Research Assistant

Indian Institute of Information Technology Senapati, Manipur

Worked as a Project Assistant under Dr. Navanath Saharia , Assistant Professor , IIIT Senapati in the field of Machine Learning. Working on Clustering and Topic Modelling on data related to disaster. Published research paper while working as a research student. Later, from January 2018, I started working with Dr. N. Kishorjit Singh, Assistant Professor (HOD), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIIT Senapati, Manipur. We started working

Fall 2017

Student Advocate

Hasura.io

I was a Student Advocate (from December to February, 2018) for IMAD , Hasura. IMAD is an online course conducted by IIT Madras and Hasura in partnership with NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning). I was responsible for interacting with both professors and students, actively promoted the course on social media and spread awareness about the course. With their help and significant contribution, IMAD became the largest MOOC in India with 250,000+ registrations. This contribution to the Hasura helped in its proper growth and development. Through this project I created a powerful impact of IMAD in IIIT Manipur itself which further helped other neighboring colleges in Manipur.

Fall 2017

Student Advocate

Internshala

I was responsible for promoting Internshala and its products and was able to complete it successfully and showed genuine sincerity and willingness to learn while taking on new assignments and challenges.

Projects

August 2019 - Present

Estimating the severity of road traffic accidents using deep learning

Bachelor's Thesis | Guide: Dr. N. Kishorjit Singh, IIIT Manipur, India

Considered various parameters based road traffic accidents dataset for the analysis and prediction purpose. The dataset is throughly visualized to find the reasons behind an accident. Various deep learning architectures are used to obtain the desired result.

Summer 2019

Estimating the closest taxon pairs in multiple sequence alignment using deep learning

Guide: Prof. Arndt von Haeseler, CIBIV, University of Vienna, Austria

During this project I worked in the field of Bioinformatics at Center for Integrative Bioinformatics Vienna (CIBIV), Max Perutz Lab, University of Vienna. + Implemented various deep learning architectures such as CNN (its variants), Bi-LSTM, Bi-GRU, Transformer Model nad used CUDA architecture to estimate the closest taxon pairs in multiple sequence alignment. + During this project, I focused on implementing a hybrid architecture of 2 Convolutional layers with a Bi-LSTM and a Bi-GRU architectures.

January 2019 - May 2019

A Machine Learning and deep learning approach for predicting Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) using Risk Factors

Guide: Dr. N. Kishorjit Singh, IIIT Manipur, India

Used various risk factors which are responsible for heart diseases such as age, sex, height, weight, heart rate, diabetic level, cholestrol level, etc used in predicting the CHD. The dataset for the project is taken from the UCI Machine Learning Repository https://archive.ics.uci.edu/ml/machine-learning-databases/arrhythmia/ . The System is trained on the dataset by applying classifiers such as Logistic regression, SVM, random forest, XGBoost etc. to predict other types of CHD (such as Tachycardia, Bradycardia and Coronary artery diseases using ECG signals) to make it more efficient. Later, the model was further improved by implementing deep learning architectures such as CNN, LSTM, Bi-LSTM and GRU.

September 2019 - December 2019

Finding out the needy one from Tweets : An analysis using #kerelafloods

Guide: Dr Navanath Saharia, IIIT Manipur, India

Worked on Identifying relevent words from Tweets to help People during disasters (flood). Implemented Topic Modelling to analyse the use of the system & Used K-Means, LDA. Implemented this project in order to help NGOs, Government agencies to help People in kerala during this destructive flood situation. Later, the system was further improved by implementing for indigenous people as now this tool extracts tweets based on various regional languages and it translates local languages(tweets) into English to be used by Government officials. Further a web tool is designed for proper visualisation of hashtags and information gathered from tweets during disaster.

Summer 2018

Building and Using Comparable Corpora for Machine Translation

Guide: Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, IIT Varanasi (BHU), India

The aim of the project was to use Machine Learning algorithms for finding the solutions the problem. To make a Parallel Corpus from a Comparable Corpus obtained from wikipedia dumps for HungarianEnglish Language. Used Support Vector Machine, Logistic Regression and Random Forest Classifier on the training and testing data to achieve an accurate machine learning model.

July 2018 - November 2018

Sentiment Analysis for racist/provocative words identification from Tweets

Guide : Dr Himangshu Sarma, IIIT Senapati, Manipur

The project is based on detecting the hate speech containing Tweets. Used a pre-labelled data for training and testing the model. Machine Learning algorithms were used (SVM, Logistic Regression, random forest, decision tree, etc) to obtain an accurate system. Working on improving this system further by applying various deep learning approaches
